(Jessica Horn)
2006-06
Written by Jessica Horn
This is the first recorded version of Middle of America done with studio players and produced by Max Berry for demo purposes. The new version on the Stretch of Road CD is the Jessica Horn Band version that you hear them play at their shows.
i don't mind when the weather's too hot
i put on the sprinkler & an old tank top
when it cools off at night you'll find me out on the deck
pickin my guitar cool drink in my hand
see my man shovelin up the snow
he wakes up early always rearin to go
when he gets done i'm gonna heat him back up
cuz he looks so sexy in his longjohns
we got cornfed women & meat lovin men
follow the river to the ozark mountains
friendliest foks that you've ever met in the middle of America
i'll light a fire up late in the fall
ready for winter to keep us indoors
we don't have to mow our grass year-round
when times get hard we help eachother out
what better place to raise your kids
snowball fights & pink sunsets
ridin bikes to the corner store
saturdays momma plays bunko next door
i like the beacj don't get me wrong
but i still have nightmares about jaws
i like the sand between my toes
but i can never get it out of my clothes
we got winter spring summer & fall
snow ski water ski do it all
best tailgatin in the NFL in the middle of America
